Objective To explore the＇expression of the homeobox B7 （ HOXB7 ） protein in colon carcinoma and its clinicopathological significance. Methods HOXB7 protein expression was detected by u- sing immunohistochemistry in 73 samples of primary colon carcinoma and adjacent normal mucosa. Results The expression of HOXB7 was higher in colon carcinoma than in the adjacent normal colonic mucosa, and upregulation of HOXB7 protein was significantly correlated with T stage （ P 〈 0.01 ）, AJCC stage （ P 〈 O. O1 ）, distant metastasis （ P 〈 0. 05 ） and proliferating cell nuclear antigen （ Ki-67 ） index （ P 〈 O. 01 ）. Conclusion Overexpression of HOXB7 may be an important molecular event in the progression of colon tumorigenesis.
