Adding Gd and Ho to Nd-Fe-B alloys can promote the growth of Nd2Fe14B columnar crystal , result in an u- niform distribution of Nd - rich phase, and refine the grain size of the magnet. Ho can improve the intrinsic coercivity, C,d can enhance the square degrees of the demagnetization curve, but the remanence and magnetic energy product will be lower. More- over, Gd and Ho can reduce the open flux irreversible loss, and make magnets with better thermostability.
