Based on the analysis of the significance of improved forest management projects in implementation of international convention and improvement of enterprise＇s ＂green＂image and maintenance of national ecological security in China, this paper discusses the necessity of improved forest management projects included into the market for voluntary carbon offset. This analysis was combined with the actuality of forest management and the demand of the market for voluntary carbon offset. It indicated that the improved forest management project regarded as one of the necessary projects in market for the voluntary carbon-offset is necessary, and it will help to establish and improve the carbon trade system in China, and bring into play the function of forestry in mitigating GHG emission, and achieve best distribution in carbon sink resources in China.
