Traditional dwellings in Phoenix town of Zhashui County is typical of traditional residence in mountainous region of southern Shaanxi Province.They are formed under the special natural and Humanities and social environment background, mainly brick wood structure houses and rammed earth houses.From the perspective of cultural ecology, Phoenix town overall pattern to conform to the natural terrain, the traditional houses basically follows the principle of local materials, roof, wall,courtyard elements affected by climatic and environmental constraints.Phoenix town Street has 120 seats building sophisticated, elegant dec- oration of the shop houses into the requirements of commercial activities that is symbol financial resource.It is rammed earth construction or multiple courtyard,Chinese traditional etiquette ideology and patriarchal concept embodied.There is close rela-tionship between the formation of the traditional folk style of the Phoenix Town and the cultural exchange.
