中部地区是我国重要的商品粮生产基地，承担着保障国家粮食安全和实现农产品有效供给的重任。国家实施“中部地区崛起”战略为中部地区进一步发挥农区水土资源比较优势，大力发展现代种植业及其精深加工业，提供了历史机遇。文章从中部地区农业生产特点与问题分析入手，对新时期区域农业发展的功能定位与战略方向进行深入探讨，提出了提升中部地区农业综合生产能力和实现农业持续健康发展的可行途径及对策。
英文摘要：
This paper systematically reviews the process of agricultural development and the Central region of China is the nation＇s vital commodity grain base, ensuring food security and providing primary products for the whole country. The nation＇s policy to boost the development of the central region provides the opportunity to further exert the predominance of its abundance in water and land to develop modem crop fanning and processing. This paper analyzed the characteristics and problems of agricultural production in the central region, discussed the function and direction of its development in the new period, and finally put forward corresponding approaches and countermeasures to prompt overall agricultural production capacity and realize sustainable agricultural development.
