Fluorosis is an endemic disease caused by excessive accumulation of fluoride, which often results in severe dental fluorosis and skeletal fluorosis. In recent years, the epigenetic pathogenesis of fluorosis has been explored by many researchers and it was found that SIRT1 plays an important role in the pathogenesis of fluorosis Fluoride exposure can cause structural damage to the ovary and uterus in fluorosis rats and thus reduce the fertility of female rats. SIRT1 can regulate the secretion of reproductive hormones through p53, and the protective effect of SIRT1 may be related to the regulation of methylation by SIRT1. This article summarized the present studies and prospects of the relationship between SIRT1 and fluorosis, hoping to provide scientific basis for further exploration of the pathogenesis of fluorosis
