AS one of new harmful attack methods, hornet has become one of most serious threats to network security. Botnet is not only a network attacking method but also an attacking platform which can integrate other traditional methods. The classification and hazards of botnet and the countermeasures are presented in this paper. The future development of botnet is discussed also.
