通过黔东及邻区新元古代甲路沉积时期岩石地层的对比,反映出武陵造山运动所形成的古地貌对后期沉积环境具有明显控制作用。甲路组底部底砾岩建造组合特征反映,梵净山为山前泥石流-河流沉积,南东的湘西芷江地区属河流-滨岸相沉积,从江及桂北属河流-滨岸砂砾滩相沉积,可以确定梵净山地区为该时期古地貌高位区,其南东桂北-从江地区为古地貌低位区,并首先遭受海侵接受沉积充填;甲路组上部发育的一套钙质岩系在区域上有很好的可对比性,反映出该地区在武陵造山运动之后经历了沉积填平过程而使区域沉积环境相对一致,同时说明了该地区下江时期由于裂陷作用而出现的沉积分异是在该时期之后才加剧的。
