In this study, the inhibitory effects of usnic acid against Staphylococcus aureus, short-chain Bacillus, Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus thuringiensis and E. coli were investigated, and the bacteriostasis of usnic acid was compared with that of benzoic acid and sorbic acid.
