This paper studies the relationship between urban planning and urban rail transit planning through an analysis of their inherent connection in various stages, argues that the current rail transit planning is not completely or systematically integrated into the urban planning mechanism. Hence a lot of problerrks appeared due to this conflict. The integration not only depends on the effective interaction between the two plannings, and more importantly,on the improvement of themselves, especially of the urban planning.
