A novel photonic crystal （PC） waveguide to achieve highly directional emission is proposed. Compared to other PC waveguides, this kind of PC waveguides has better directional performance, as demonstrated by numerical simulations. This structure is believed to have potential applications in the efficient coupling application between conventional optical fibers and PC waveguides.
