The business process of an outpatient appointment and queuing system was given. The system structure having four-tier distributed architecture based on B/S and C/S was described. The system operation efficiency was improved and patients＇ waiting time was substantially reduced on the basis of lean thinking. Now the proposed system has been applied in the 7th people＇s hospital of Shanghai.
