Porphyrin has good light, thermal and chemical stability. These excellent features result in widely research in the field of dye-sensitised solar cells. This work mainly focus on meso-porphyrin based sensitizers. The basic construction and principle of DSSCs are introduced. The applications of varies meso-substituted porphyrins with anchoring groups of carhoxyl in dye-sensitized solar cells,in particular the influence of anchoring aroups with carboxyl on the photovoltaic efficiency has been discussed.
