长链非编码RNA(long non-coding RNA,lncRNA)是指长度大于200个核苷酸、无蛋白编码功能的RNA。
Tumor metastasis,a main characteristic of malignant tumor,is the major cause of cancer death. However, the molecular mechanism of tumor metastasis is poorly understood although intensively investigated. Recently, long non- coding RNAs( lnRNAs) have been emerging at the forefront of cancer biomarker and therapeutic target research. LncRNAs are non- protein coding RNAs that are longer than 200 nucleotides. It has been reported that lncRNAs may function as either oncogenes or tumor suppressors to affect tumor development and metastasis through regulation of target gene expression. This article reviews the recent progress in studying the roles and mechanisms of lncRNAs on tumor metastasis.
