The auscultation is one of the features of typical TCM treatment methods. It bases on rich theories of TCM and in- herited from clinical experiences of doctors in past time. It is one of important part of diagnostics of TCM and plays an important role in the diagnosis of diseases and syndromes. This paper tries to explain its position and role and to prospect the future of mod- em study and development of auscultation based on the theory of auscultation.
