Fifteen N-phenyl and N-ethoxycarbonylmethyl phosphaisoquinolin-l-ones and their 4-allyl, 4-chloro derivatives were synthesized by Pd(Ⅱ)-catalyzed cyclization, coupling-cyclization and halocyclization reactions. The structures of the target compounds were confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, MS, IR spectra and elemental analysis.
