《我母亲的自传》(The Autobiography of My Mother,1996)是琴凯德的第四部长篇小说。
Jamaica Kincaid is an important writer from West India. The Autobiography of My Mother is Kincaid's fourth lengthy work of fiction. The text is full of the double senses of ques- tioning and rebellion of colonialism and patriarchy. Since the narrator's mother has died, the use of the trope of the father adds a new dimension to the familiar allegories in Kincaid's earlier works that feature the mother. Also, the conscious focus on autobiography in this text calls at- tention to the subversiveness of the act raphy of My Mother through the lens of self-writing. This paper tries to analyze The Autobiog- of allegory and self-writing.
