This paper explored the effect of the surface alkali liquor processing on the mechanical properties of the rice straw particle board. The results included that comparison with non-processing panel, the internal bond strength （IB） was improved, the modulus of elasticity（MOE） and the modulus and rupture（ MOR ） were reduced, but 2 hours thickness swelling （2hTS） was enhanced above the national standard. This research＇s conclusion as follows： the surface alkali liquor processing had important effect on the mechanical properties of the rice straw board by enhancing the straw surface wet-ability and the agglutination intensity.
