在光纤传输系统中,未来众多通信新业务对传输容量和传输速度提出了更高的需求,而采用多芯光纤(MCF)的空分复用(SDM)技术可以有效解决传统单模光纤(SMF)对传输容量的限制。本文采用光束传输法和有限元法设计了一种7芯光纤,基于优化的结构参数制备了相应的7芯光纤。搭建了MCF传输特性测试平台,对所制备的7芯光纤进行测试和分析,得其传输损耗为0.36dB/km、弯曲损耗为0.0537dB和芯径间串扰为-18.5dB。这种结构的7芯光纤制备简单,性能良好,对SDM技术的发展具有重要的推动作用。
In this work, a seven-core fiber is designed with the beam propagation method and the finite el- ement method,the influence of the key parameters on the transmission properties of the seven-core fiber is investigated,and the seven-core optical fiber is fabricated with the optimized structural parameters. An experiment setup is built to characterize the multi-core fiber (MCF),with which the transmission loss, the bending loss and the crosstalk of the seven-core optical fiber are measured. The results show a trans- mission loss of 0.36 dB/km,a bending loss of 0. 053 7 dB and a crosstalk of --18.5 dB. The seven-core fiber proposed here has the advantages of simple preparation and good performance, and could play an important role in the development of the space-division-multiplexing (SDM) technology.
