The limitations of the traditional experiment teaching methods of civil engineering in petroleum industry were discussed,and numerical simulations of the oil storage tanks on ground,underground gas storage cavern in salt rock and large water-sealed underground oil storage caverns were carried out in this paper. The simulation experiment realized the visualization and repeatability of many complex tests. This content has been carried out for 2 years in the practice of teaching for course of ＂ Civil Engineering Software Analysis and Applications＂ in China University of Petroleum,and achieved good teaching results and had significance for perfecting the experiment aided teaching means.
