The organometallic magnesium complex {（Dipp）N（SiMe3）}2Mg（N≡CBut）2 was obtained via the reaction of（Dipp）N（Li）SiMe3（Dipp=2,6-iPr2-C6H3）with trimethylacetonitrile and MgBr2·2THF,and the complex was characterized by X-ray,1H NMR,13C NMR and elemental analysis.
