Smart city is an important means and approach for the sustainable development of the city. Under the background of smart city construction and operation, through effective information resources planning, this paper integrates the ubiquitous infor- mation, combs the historical context, and supports the intelligent behavior and smart decisions. The paper focuses on the analysis of the manifestations and activity patterns of smart city, dissects the characteristics, relationship and connotation of information re- sources for smart city, combs the concept, objects and contents of information resources planning for smart city, and studies the principles and framework of information resources planning for smart city.
