Hot-rolled reinforced bar is one of the important constructional steel grades. However, China is lag behind the main developed industrial countries in rebar production and application. The development history of hotrolled bar in more half century and the production of main three hot-rolled ribbed bars HRB335, HRB400 and HRB500 in China are described. In recent years,hot-rolled bar in China has made a greater progress in technology, quality and properties. At present, it is an important period of applying HRB400 for updating construction steel, therefore, further optimizing HRB400 process and increasing rebar quality is very meaningful.
