The photocatalysis is illustrated in detail from the viewpoint of the optical absorption, the trapping of photoinduced carriers and the quantum efficiency, and the applications of the TiO2 photocatalysts in polluted water or air cleaning and solar energy conversion are summarized. Finally,the current researches with respect to the TiO2 photocatalysis are summed up. Recently, the doped and photocatalysts with nano structure have been studied extensively.
