Ceramic fiber rigid insulation tiles is one of the most important insulation materials in the space shuttles of USA because of its lightweight, high-temperature stability and low thermal conductivity. The method of fabricating ceramic fiber rigid insulation tiles is generally introduced. The development of American three generation rigid insulation tiles in fabrication and performance is discussed in detail. And the research progress of domestic rigid insulation tiles is summarized. Finally, the prospective development of rigid insulation tiles is also presented.
