The essay is aimed at putting forward the question of the relationship between Karl Marx and western sociology, which doesn＇t include any judgment or specific textual research. It arouses us to rethink the relationship between Marx and modern sociology and makes the sociology produce new shapes, so as to provide inexhaustible sociological imagination in the past, present and future. This paper attempts to gain intellectual enquiry by tracing back the initiation of western sociology and Marx＇s era background, and analyzing Marx image in the eyes of the sociologists, especially the integration of Marxist thoughts and modern sociological theory.
