Normally, pulsars, especially the millisecond pulsars, have stable integrated pulse profiles. Previous studies found that a few pulsars show an instability in their profiles. In this article, we research the stability of the integrated pulse profile of PSR J1022+1001. The profile has two peaks, and the peak ratio significantly changes with time. The analysis suggests that the instability of the integrated pulse profile of the pulsar is mainly due to the evolution of the pulse profile with frequency, meanwhile flux density varies with frequency caused by the interstellar scintillation. The study also find that the instability of small part of pulse profiles may be due to the intrinsic characteristics of the pulsar or the other reasons.
