Objective:To investigate the chemical constituents of anti-osteoporosis active extract of the processed Cibotium baronetz.Method:The components of C.baronetz were isolated on silica gel column chromatography and their structures were elucidated by chemical properties and spectroscopic evidence.Result:Eight constituents were isolated and identified as onitin(1),pyromeconic acid(2),maltol(3),kojic acid(4),5-hydroxymaltol(5),protocatechuic aldehyde(6),caffeic acid(7),protocatechuic acid(8).Conclusion:Four α-hydroxy-4H-pyran-4-one compounds were isolated from processed C.baronetz for the first time
