Based on the geo-information atlas theory and the terrestrial information cognition theory, by using remote sensing images in 1988 and 2000, the land use change process of Xi＇an during 1988-2000 years was analyzed. Ecological security evaluation indicator system of Xi＇an was constructed by using the PSR model. With the aid of the AHP to determine weight, the remote sensing images to determine natural component data, and social economic statistical data, the experimental evaluation was carried out for ecological secu- rity trend. At last, making an overlay analysis between land use chart and ecological security evolution map, the inner link between ecological security condition and land use pattern was obtained.
