Traditional Chinese Medicine emphasizes such ethical principles as ＂medicine is humanity＂ and ＂physician--patient trust＂, and shapped the physician-patient trust model. The relationship between physician and patient should be established by the belief and daily practice. Trust is the basic requirement to establish good physician--patient relationship. The physician-patient trust model requires the physician to act for the interests of the patients, and requires the physician respect patients and their decisions. Phy- sicians and patients make medical decisions based on sincere communication. The physician--patient trust model not only stick to the informed consent, but also keep the harmonious doctor--patient relationship. It has great significance to the modern medical practice.
