利用扭秤探测自旋极化物体Sm2Co17与太阳质量之间的类似轴子的相互作用,充磁以后Sm2Co17的等效自旋电子数约为1.5×10^23。初步实验结果表明,当相互作用程λ→∞时,自旋质量耦合常数的上限g,gp/(hc)〈1.4×10^-31,同时给出了对应的洛伦兹与CPT破缺因子的上限在10^-17eV水平.为了减小周围环境磁场对实验的影响,设计了三维Helmholtz线圈来补偿背景磁场.并从四个方面讨论了提高实验精度的方法.
A torsion balance is a precise instrument for surveying new weak macroscopic forces. A primary experiment with a spin polarized torsion balance was performed to explore a possible axionlike interaction between a spin-polarized body of Sm2Co17 and the sun. After magneti-zation of Sm2Co17, the equivalent number of spin-polarized electrons was about 1.5 ×10^23. A limitation on the coupling constant gcgp/(hc)〈1. 4×10^-31 for interaction range λ→∞ was given. The corresponding limitation on CPT and Lorenz violating parameter was at the level of 10^-17 eV, To further reduce the magnetic interaction, three pairs of Helmholtz coils were made to compensate the surrounding magnetic field. Four constructive proposals were discussed to improve the exoerimental precision.
