Poly（ADP-ribose） polymerase- I （PARP- 1 ）, its function and effect in DNA damage repair were introduced. The mechanism of action, the development status and the application of PARP-1 inhibitors in the treatment of epithelial ovarian cancer were reviewed. The reasons for the failure of PARP-1 inhibitors as targeted therapeutics in clinical trials for the treatment of epithelial ovarian cancer were discussed. And the application prospect of PARP 1 inhibitors and the need for further investigation into the epithelial ovarian cancer resistance mechanisms and selectivity to PARP-I inhibitor treatment were suggested for discussion.
