MicroRNA-34 ( miR-34 ) family members play a tumor-suppressive role in many cancers-Over-expression of exogenous miR-34 a can inhibit the proliferation of and induce the apop-tosis of lung cancer cells-Recently, the replacement therapy of miR-34a has been found to be effec-tive for the treatment of lung cancer, and the mechanisms are gradually being elucidated-Numerous studies showed that miR-34a family members are involved in the proliferation, metastasis, apoptosis and cell cycles of lung cancer cells, suggesting the important roles of miR-34a family members in early diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and pathogenesis of lung cancer-Here, we reviews research status of miR-34 family members and highlights the action mechanism of miR-34 family members in lung cancer.
