The plane-wave expansion method is used to calculate the band structure of a two-dimensional column photonic crystal formed by a triangular lattice of different material.The bandgap of photonic crystal composed of air cylinders in different materials and material cylinders in air are compared.It is found that the larger the value of the background index is,the larger the photonic bandgap is,and the more the number of the bandgap is.
