It investigated the planktons in the middle reaches of Ganjiang River in December 2008. The result is as follows ：47 species of phytoplankton were identified,which belongs to 30 genera of 8 phyla,among which there were Bacillariophyta 30 species, Chlorophyta 10 species, Cyanophyta 1 species, Chrysophyta 2 species, Euglenophyta 1 species, Pyrrophyta 1 species, Xanthophyta 1 species and Cryptophyta 1 species. 27 species of zooplankton were identified, among which there were Rotifera 11 species, Cladoeera 8 species, Copepoda 6 species and Protozoa 2 species. The margalef index were analyzed.
