Organic acids are important platform chemicals. Because of their extensive application in daily life, after years of development, their related industries have been expanding and production methods are advancing toward maturity. This paper mainly summarizes the application of organic acid related products and the latest development of industrial production, and reviews the development status and current research results in the process of biological methods and productivities with focus on organic acids as high value-added biomass products from biomass.
