The basic principles of flash boiling spray was introduced and it was indicated that the flash boiling spray was a great potential way for fuel injection by analyzing the difference between the flash boiling spray and traditional spray. The progress and status of study on flash boiling spray of superheated fuel and fuel containing dissolved gas at home and abroad in recent years were reviewed. The mathematic model of flash boiling spray for superheated fuel and its development were also introduced and the factors of affecting flash boiling spray were theoretically analyzed. Finally, the application prospect and development trend for further research of flash boiling spray were pointed out.
