In this paper, the Biginelli reactions of aldehyde, pentane-2, 4-dione and urea catalyzed by starch sulfonic acid （SSA） are studied and a series of 3,4-dihydropyrimidine-2（1H）-ones derivatives are synthesized in higher yields under milder conditions and in shorter time.
