Poly（ionic liquid）s （or polymerized ionic liquids, PILs） have recently attracted considerable attention in the fields of polymer chemistry, energy and material science in recent years. This review introduces the synthesis and properties of poly（ionic liquid）s, and their applications in （quasi） solid-state electrolyte dye-sensitized solar cellss polyelectrolyte mem- brane fuel cells, stimuli-responsive materials and carbon materials.
