【Objective】To explore the efficacy of preservation of anterior thoracic nerve and intercostobrachial nerve in breast cancer surgery.【Methods】Totally 217 patients with breast cancer admitted in our hospital between February 2013 and February 2015 were treated as the research objects, and the patients were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number method. Two groups of patients were performed breast resection, the patients in the control group did not retain anterior thoracic nerve and intercostobrachial nerve, while the observation group did. The clinical effects of the two groups were compared and analyzed.【Results】The incidence of adverse reactions, tumor recurrence and metastasis rate in the observation group were signifi cantly lower than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically signifi cant(P 0.05).【Conclusion】Preservation of anterior thoracic nerve and intercostobrachial nerve during breast resection in patients with breast cancer can effectively reduce adverse reactions such as upper arm numbness and pectoral muscle atrophy, reduce the incidence of tumor recurrence and metastasis, which is worthy of promotion and application in clinic.
