英文摘要：

Spacetime realism is one of the important branches of philosophy of physics, and it is also an important theoretical foundation of the philosophy of science. It has become a hot topic since 1960s, and has developed a lot. However, it also faces lots of problems. So far, none of the spacetime realism strategies has resolved all the prob- lems. We must analyze the philosophical and physical origins of pacetime realism so that we can understand contem- porary spacetime realism strategies properly. This article introduces the historical origins of spacetime realism from three aspects： the metaphysical status of spacetime, the rational consideration of physical spacetime and the method- ological merging tendency of philosophy of science. The paper also raises four principles for the development of spacetime realism.
