A newly developed and validated multi-body model was used to simulate vehicle-pedestrian collisions and to study the dynamic responses of the pedestrians. The biomechanical parameters related to head-brain injuries and the variables of vehicle-front design were determined and analysed. The results showed that restricted vehicle speed, lowered stiffness of vehicle front structure and raised hood edge height could result in fewer head injuries.
