Based on the field investigation and measurements, the conglomerates on the banks of the modern Yel-low River in Baode County and Fugu County have similar altitudes which decline from east to west on the whole.Magnetostratigraphy study shows that the distribution of the conglomerates has evident regularity, the age of theconglomerates goes older and older from east of Baode to west of Zhifu, ranging from 8Ma to 3.7Ma. The dated ag-es and altitudes data indicate erosion by the ancient Yellow River in this area.
