A catastrophic debris flow occurred in Hongguang Town of Qingchuan County, Siehuan Province on 28th Augest, 2006, which caused serious property damage and still threaten resident safety of the Hongguang Town. Based site survey, authors analyzed the formation conditions, disaster processes of this debris flow event. Then the dynamic parameters such as bulk density, discharge and transported sediment scale are calculated. Based on debris flow hazard features and local social, economic situation as well as need of ecological construction, preventive countermeasures for the debris flow Hazards are presented.
