According to the knowledge-based innovation theory,it is the key for enterprises＇ success in innovation to acquire,absorb,use and diffuse valuable knowledge.Internal accumulation and external acquisition are two primary means for enterprises to increase knowledge storage.It explores the direct and interactive effects of the two knowledge increase means on enterprise innovation.With 226 samples of Chinese enterprises,it uses structural equation modeling approach and finds that not only internal knowledge accumulation and external knowledge acquisition have direct effects on enterprise innovation,but also the interaction between them has positive impact on innovative performance.The results suggest that enterprises,based on the internal knowledge creation activities,should also acquire external knowledge in order to obtain more innovative achievements and competitive advantage.
