Inter- and intra-molecular enantioselective carbolithiation reactions in the presence of （-）-sparteine provide ac- cess to construct new highly regio- and stereo-selective carbon-carbon bonds. The recent results of the （-）-sparteine mediated asymmetric carbolithiation reactions in organic synthesis are summarized.
