The distribution of continuous spectrum critical-layer and the separability of continuous spectrum in the vertical shear basic flow of a rotational-stratification two-dimension ocean are studied. There are three kinds of waves in transverse disturbance when vertical shear basic flow exists. They are a pair of inertial-gravitational waves and a vortex wave, which all have continuous spectrum and critical-layer. The continuous spectra of vortex wave and inertial-gravitational waves can overlap while the disturbance wave length is between a half of the critical wave length and the critical wave length. However, the critical-layers of continuous spectra of all kinds of waves do not overlap each other. When the disturbance length and geostrophic parameter are smaller and the vertical shear basic flow is stronger, the continuous spectra of the three kinds of waves can overlap while the disturbance wave length is smaller than a half of the critical wave length. The mixed waves will appear and the critical-layer may overlap in the area where a vortex wave and two kinds of inertial-gravitational waves overlap.
