More and more traffic problems in the city affect urban development seriously, thus making the study of urban traffic pattern an important part of the metropolitan transportation development strategy. This paper analyzes the evolution of the road system and trip mode of Jinan City, compares the data of travel survey of residents＇ trip in different periods and points out the changing features. The traffic pattern of Jinan City is defined as the transforming stage from slow traffic oriented mode to other modes. At the same time some proposals are put forward for the future transport development of Jinan City.
