We introduced the basic strategies of the GIPSY software for GPS data processing, including non-fiducial solution, precise point positioning （PPP） as well as the special settings for some geophysical models and site specific parameters. Using the GIPSY software with the data processing strategies introduced here, we processed the data of 2 pairs of continuously operating GPS stations, which are located on the two sides of the Xianshuihe Fault Zone in western Sichuan Province. The time-position series of the stations processed by the GIPSY software with our strategies is well coincident with that from the GAMIT software.
