This paper has analyzed the growth of technology contributions ratio to GDP in Chongqing＇s economic growth and found that the municipal effect was obvious by using Cobb -Douglas Function. The average annual ratio from 1986 -1995 was 0. 0298 before municipality and 0.3938 from 1997 -2005 after Chongqing＇s becoming the forth municipality.
